If you are in South Haven, this is the park to choose. However, it is very pricey for what you get. The sites slope way down in the front. No cable TV and few local channels. People are allowed to walk through the lake front campsites to get to the lake and then they fish right in front of your RV! The staff is very friendly, but not very knowledgeable about running a campground. They have a way to go before they should call this a resort. We had no drinking water for 3 days because one of the wells was allowed to go down too far while they put water into the lake. No one ever came and told us when the water was safe. We heard it by word of mouth. Their weekly activities on the weekend usually cost money. The last one was $6.00 a person for a cheeseburger and some potato salad. Plus, they're always trying to sell you a lot, and think nothing of knocking on your door day or night or stopping you in the rain to discuss "opportunities". As I said, its the place to choose in South Haven, but it is definitely NOT a resort yet.
We have stayed here many times over the last few years. Nothing has happened new except that there are now pull-thru's. No pool. Been under construction for 2 years. Wi-Fi is pricey and spotty at best. While the camp hosts are wonderful and friendly, the manager of the part, Daniel Martin is young, inexperienced and rude. We had quite a bit of trouble with our Wi-Fi and he tried to blame it on the fact that many older people just don't know how to use the computer. We are both retired, but not dead. We both have extensive experience in the computer world - I'm sure much more than he. As it turned out, their system does not recognize Vista, and he doesn't know how to fix it. Daniel is the owner's son. Good reason for not hiring family. We have tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt so many times, and we now have run out of patience with their claims that things will be finished soon. One of the hosts told us that the owner is out of money for all the new developments. $38.00 is a bit high for just a place to hang, with no real activities. In addition, our site was a mess with lots of left-over cigars littering the site. I know the last reviewer takes exception to the previous criticism, and we used to defend and praise the park. However, enough is enough.
Good place to stay when visiting Gainesville. We stayed here during the summer. Had a nice shade tree. The sites are concrete and grass. Lots of room at the site and beautiful grounds. Just make sure you do your grocery shopping before you get there. It's a long way to the store. The people at the registration are a bit stand-offish. No escort to site - We has to find it ourselves. Lots of people who have bought lots and there is a lot of camaraderie. We really had a nice time. If you like golf - it's heaven.
